Paraná generates 100 jobs in nine months and consolidates itself as leader in the South region

Paraná generated 100.283 formal jobs from January to September 2023, which represents the first best balance of jobs in the South region and the fourth in the entire country. The data are from the General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Caged) of the Ministry of Labor in Employment released on Monday, the 30th.

The balance is the difference between admissions (1.376.960) and dismissals (1.276.677). Since the beginning of the year, Paraná has remained among the first in the national ranking, losing only to the most populous states such as São Paulo (433.962), Minas Gerais (183.414) and Rio de Janeiro (123.028). In September, specifically, Paraná registered 9.046 new jobs. 

Among the states in the Southern Region, Paraná maintained its leadership in terms of jobs created from January to September. Santa Catarina ended the period with a balance of 82.591 jobs and Rio Grande do Sul with 54.115 new jobs.

For the State Secretary of State for Labor, Qualification and Income, Mauro Moraes, Paraná's permanence in the top positions in the national ranking of employment balance indicates important directions for the State to end 2023 with a balance higher than the 118.149 new formal jobs created in 2022.

“In the year to date, Paraná has maintained an important position, if we compare it with the results of much more populous states, such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. Among the states in the Southern Region, we remain in the lead, with an advantage of up to 20 thousand new jobs in relation to the second-placed state”, highlights Moraes. 

SECTORS

The economic activity with the best performance from January to September 2023 in Paraná was services, with 56.684 new jobs. Industry is in second place in the year-to-date with a positive balance of 14.494 jobs, followed by construction (13.552), commerce (11.462) and agriculture (4.092).

In September, all sectors also had a positive balance, led by services, with 3.953 new jobs, and commerce, with 2.500 new jobs. The industry sector created 1.282 new jobs, construction had 1.182 new jobs, while agriculture registered a positive balance of 123 jobs.

COUNTIES

In the municipal analysis, Curitiba was the city with the highest positive balance of job openings between January and September. There were 15.285 new formal positions. Londrina (6.692), São José dos Pinhais (6.197), Maringá (5.914), Cascavel (3.884), Pinhais (3.318), Ponta Grossa (3.281), Toledo (2.706), Foz do Iguaçu (2.437), Colombo (2.376) and Assis Chateaubriand (1.956) appear next.

In the month of September, the main employers, in terms of volume, were Maringá (816), São José dos Pinhais (687), Curitiba (587), Ponta Grossa (489), Toledo (439) and Pinhais (419).
