The Fire Department was called 11 times on Sunday, 25th, to respond to calls in Pontal do Paraná, Matinhos and Paranaguá.

The last week of February begins with instability in Paraná and other southern states of Brazil, due to the increase in storm conditions. On the coast, heavy rain hit several cities over the weekend, including: Paranaguá, Guaraqueçaba, Antonina and Guaratuba. In addition to Pontal do Paraná and Matinhos, which recorded large rainfall volumes between Saturday and Sunday.

“Instabilities associated with wind circulation and the action of a trough and low pressure in Paraguay increase humidity in the region; with the atmosphere still hot, the condition of many heavy clouds increases,” reported Climatempo.

According to the Paraná Environmental Monitoring and Technology System (Simepar), the week could be rainy in Paraná, something that will be reflected in the eastern region of the state. “On Tuesday, the 27th, an area of low atmospheric pressure will amplify between the north of Argentina and the coast of Rio Grande do Sul and will favor the increase of instability over the entire southern region of Brazil. In Paraná, the sun will predominate in the early hours of the day and will favor the rapid daytime heating that will contribute to the formation of storms from the south/southwest of Paraná, on the border with Santa Catarina. Forecast of rain with lots of lightning and potential for strong gusts of wind in a localized manner”, highlighted Simepar.

In the other regions, the sun appears and continues to lead to a rapid rise in temperatures.
