On Tuesday, the 14th, Portos do Paraná began its participation in Intermodal South America 2026, ranking among the 12 largest stands at the international event, which takes place in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo, bringing together more than 700 brands and exhibitors, an opportunity to bring new business and reinforce the international prominence of Paraná's ports. The public company is participating in this year's Intermodal along with 26 other partner companies, and the expectation is to receive more than 45 visitors until Thursday, the 16th.
According to Portos do Paraná, Intermodal is considered the second largest logistics event in the world. “We always bring new things, and this makes our booth a benchmark. In recent years, our space has become a natural meeting point for the port sector,” says the CEO of the public company, Luiz Fernando Garcia, highlighting that the booth, with its spacious structure and 26 partners, is always full, representing a unique opportunity to develop new business for the benefit of Paranaguá and Paraná.
"The structure features interactive spaces with a memory game and a strength test hammer, as well as two LED screens and a moving panel. Three companies from the Paraná coast and one from Curitiba participated in the event," the press office details.
International recognition on the very first day of Intermodal.
CEO Luiz Fernando Garcia was honored on the first day of Intermodal by Fundacional Valenciaport, a Spanish innovation center linked to the Port of Valencia, specializing in energy transition, new technologies, and renewable fuels. “This recognition of partnership is a great joy for us. It's a validation of the State Government's work in keeping this great port machine functioning,” he added, highlighting that the port group is one of the largest in the Mediterranean.

“We have had an excellent relationship with Portos do Paraná for years, and Luiz Fernando has always trusted our work. This is the moment to thank and acknowledge the excellent work developed in relation to Brazilian ports,” stated the Director of International Development, Miguel Garín Alemany, and the Director of Projects of the Fundación Valenciaport, Jonas Mendes, who presented a plaque to the CEO.

Decarbonization and Sustainability Plan
According to the state-owned company, one of the most recent projects carried out in partnership between Portos do Paraná and the Fundación Valenciaport was the decarbonization plan, initiated in March 2026. "The process began with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory, also prepared by the foundation and completed in the first half of 2025. The project is currently in the implementation phase with working groups within the port community," it added.

“Among the objectives is the implementation of improvements throughout the port infrastructure, such as the electrification of equipment—replacing those powered by fossil fuels—adjustments in operational processes, and the implementation of new standards aimed at reducing GHG emissions. The result of the inventory was so positive that the Paraná Port Authority received the Pro-Climate Seal, in the Green Impulse category, awarded by the Brazilian Alliance for the Decarbonization of Ports, in 2025,” concludes Portos do Paraná.
