On Tuesday afternoon, the 10th, the Federal Revenue Service seized a shipment of cocaine at a terminal in the Port of Paranaguá.

The tablets weighed a total of 226 kilograms and were found in a container with a legitimate shipment of wood for export. The drugs were discovered during a routine operation using a scanner.

The cocaine was hidden inside bales of treated pine beams, which were hollow inside. The cargo was to be transshipped in Spain, at the Port of Las Palmas – one of the largest port hubs in the Atlantic, connecting Europe, Africa and America due to its privileged location – and its final destination was Italy.

At the end of the operation, the drugs were handed over to the competent judicial police for further investigation. No one was arrested.

3th SEIZURE

This was the third drug seizure in Paranaguá this year: 72 kilos were seized in the first two months. In 2025, the Federal Revenue Service seized more than 2,4 tons of cocaine in the ports of Santa Catarina and Paraná. In Paranaguá alone, more than 1,8 tons were seized in 12 operations.

SUPERVISION

The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service reinforces its commitment to combating international drug trafficking, working in an integrated manner with other public security agencies and using technology and intelligence to control illicit activities.

The operation carried out demonstrates the effectiveness of inspection actions at customs points and reaffirms the role of the Federal Revenue Service in protecting society and strengthening the country's borders.
