The Santuário do Rocio is accepting applications for the “Queen and Princess of the Patron Saint’s Festival 2024” contest, which will select girls born between 2008 and 2016 to make the solemn entrance with the official mantle of the State Festival of Our Lady of Rocio at the mantle exchange ceremony that will take place on November 3rd, at 20 pm.
Registration must be completed by parents or legal guardians with the competition coordinators, until August 22nd and will only be carried out by filling out the online form, available on the sanctuary website: (www.santuariodorocio.com/concurso2024), which should include the candidate's information, among other details.
CRITERIA
According to the competition coordinators, the candidate must meet the following criteria: reside on the coast of Paraná; be born between 2008 and 2016; be available to participate in the general meeting and the mass to present the candidates, on August 29, at 18:30 pm; in addition to being available to participate in the mass for the exchange of the mantle on November 4, 2023 at 19 pm.
AWARD
“The contest winner is the candidate who sells the most votes/support worth R$2,00 each. The winner receives the title of Queen of the 2024 Patron Saint Festival, a sash, the amount of R$1.000,00 and the mission of carrying a new mantle to the altar on the day of the cloak exchange. The second place winner receives the title of Princess of the 2024 Patron Saint Festival, a corresponding sash, a prize of R$500,00 and also receives the mission of carrying the crown of Our Lady of Rocio and the splendor of the baby Jesus to the altar on the day of the ceremony,” explained Gabriel José, a member of the contest organizing team.

The contest will close on October 26, Saturday, from 14 pm to 17 pm, and parents must submit their final accounts to the contest coordinators by that time. In order to facilitate proof, it is recommended that all payments be made preferably via Pix. The result will be announced on October 27, Sunday, at mass, at 9 am.
“In addition to the traditional contest prizes, this year we will have special gifts from companies that are supporting the contest and which will be announced soon.
