Rocio Sanctuary launches 3rd Mother's Day Festival with special program in Paranaguá

The event takes place from May 7th to 10th and includes concerts, masses, lunch, and a tribute to inspiring mothers.

“Everything is ready for the third edition of the festival and we want to invite everyone to participate. We will have a vast program: food court, cultural presentations, celebrations, masses, novenas, blessings and the awarding of prizes to inspiring mothers from our city, with such beautiful stories that we have here,” says the rector of the Rocio Sanctuary, Father Dirson Gonçalves.

The State Sanctuary of Our Lady of Rocio will hold the third edition of the Mother's Day Festival, "Casa da Mãe do Rocio," from May 7th to 10th. The event will feature religious and entertainment programs, as well as many tributes and surprises, according to the organizers. The launch took place on Wednesday morning, the 15th, in the Social Hall of the Rocio Sanctuary.

We will have a vast program: food court, cultural presentations, celebrations, masses, novenas, blessings and the awarding of prizes to inspiring mothers from our city, with such beautiful stories that we have here," says the rector of the Rocio Sanctuary, Father Dirson Gonçalves.

The festivities will also include a Kids' Area for children. "Over these four days, we want to transform the square into a welcoming, beautiful space for families from Paranaguá to enjoy and participate," says the rector. "We started the Mother's Day celebration in an unpretentious way in 2024, thinking of a single edition. It was so good that they asked for a second one, and now we're already on the third edition. We are always adjusting what can be improved to further welcome families from Paranaguá and to honor mothers. In all these moments, the focus is on them. Mothers deserve this tribute as a Church, as a society, and as a family. They work for all of us all year round, and this is a moment of recognition," emphasizes the Redemptorist missionary.

Lunch and prize show

On Sunday the 10th, there will be a special lunch, and 150 tickets will be available for purchase starting Thursday, April 16th. "Sales begin this Thursday at the Sanctuary shop, the Secretariat, and also during the celebrations with Dona Maria. It's important to secure your ticket in advance, as there are only 150 tickets," she emphasizes.

Regarding the prize promotion, the rector emphasizes that the raffle tickets are already on sale. “The prize promotion is already underway. The tickets are available and the prizes are very good. The ticket costs only twelve reais. This price is also calculated because those who sell receive a share. We already have several representatives from the sanctuary and shops in the city selling them, in addition to the secretariat, the shop, and the staff at the masses,” he reinforces.

This year, the prizes range from R$1 to R$10. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards social and evangelization work promoted by the Sanctuary. The drawing will be held on Sunday the 10th, at 21 pm, with live streaming on the Sanctuary's social media and on Difusora 104,7 FM radio.

Tickets are still available for purchase directly at the Sanctuary's office, for R$ 12,00. You can also buy them via WhatsApp (41) 3423-2020.

The official opening of the festival will take place on the 7th, at 21 pm, after the Mass of the Blessed Sacrament.

The program at the Sanctuary brings together culture, faith, gastronomy, and awards.
