Full-time schools will have a different calendar in 2020

Professionals will receive various training courses to adapt to the new model

While most students in the state school system in Paraná will return to school on February 5, students in schools that will be exclusively Full-Time Education (ETI) from 2020 will resume their studies on the 10th of the same month. From February 3 to 7, the teams at these institutions will undergo specific training regarding the new management and pedagogical models.

May 15th and July 20th and 21st, reserved for Study and Planning in the regular 2020 School Calendar, will be normal school days for students and staff in Full-Time schools. In ETI units, this work is concentrated in February.

Throughout the year, professionals at these schools will receive various training sessions to adapt the new model to their realities, with workshops related to the Life Project curricular component, actions focused on youth leadership and guidance on school management.

In practice

Full-time schools will operate on a single shift. There will be nine classes per day, with a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks, totaling nine hours of activities per day and 45 hours per week.

Youth leadership and students’ Life Projects are the central axis of the pedagogical model of ETI schools. The goal is to guide teenagers to discover where they want to go and, thus, help them on this journey. Leadership Clubs will be promoted, developed by the students themselves so that they can explore their interests together. Teachers will also be encouraged to take on a mentoring role.
