Hope has been renewed this week on the coast of Paraná. Hope for the end of the Covid-19 pandemic with another important step taken recently: the start of vaccination for children aged 10 and 11. In the region, Paranaguá already began this stage on Monday, as soon as the doses arrived, at the Railway Station and the autism center and, by the end of the afternoon, the age range had already been lowered to five years. Matinhos has also already kicked off and Guaratuba starts today, Wednesday, the 19th.
It is worth highlighting the efforts made by health teams in this phase. There is a whole organization and concern in guiding the population about the vaccine in the face of so much misinformation that appears on social media.
Vaccinating children, especially those with comorbidities, is essential to prevent severe cases of COVID-19. This appeal should be understood by parents and those responsible for protecting this population. Schools will reopen next month for the start of the 2022 school year, and it is much safer for everyone if students aged 5 to 11 are immunized.
The authorization of pediatric doses by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) came after a careful technical analysis of data and clinical studies conducted by Pfizer. According to the Agency's technical team, the information evaluated indicates that the vaccine is safe and effective for children, as requested by Pfizer and authorized by Anvisa.
The only way to get out of the pandemic is to follow the guidelines of health authorities. One of them, if not one of the main ones, is to complete the full vaccination schedule. Do your part.
