Lucas Modesto, a 28-year-old digital influencer from Paranaguá, is going through one of the most difficult times of his life. Known on social media for his charisma and close relationship with his followers, he is undergoing medical treatment in Curitiba after discovering a lesion in his sinus area, which has been causing severe pain and affecting important bodily functions.
According to Lucas, the first symptoms appeared at the end of March this year. Initially, he believed he was suffering from sinusitis, but the persistent condition led to more detailed examinations.
“It all started with me thinking I had sinusitis, and I started treatment with antibiotics. Until I had a CT scan and discovered it wasn't what we thought. It's something more than that. We were referred to the Cancer Hospital to undergo a series of tests, including a biopsy, which is the test that will show if we have a malignant or benign tumor,” she reported.

The lesion is located in the sinus and has been causing a series of complications. According to the influencer, the structure is compressing important areas of the face. “Mine is located in the sinus and because of that it's compressing my eye and the masticatory tract on the left side. It's difficult to eat, it's given me a lot of headaches, a swollen face, and many sleepless nights,” he said.
Lucas also revealed that he had to resort to strong medications to control the pain. However, the side effects also became a concern. “I was on morphine, but it started to harm my stomach. Unable to eat properly, I lost about 17 kilos in just one month,” he stated.
He is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Erasto Gaertner Hospital in Curitiba, one of the leading cancer treatment centers in Paraná. While awaiting the biopsy results, the influencer remains on medication to alleviate symptoms and control pain.
"I am currently at Erasto Gaertner Hospital awaiting the biopsy results to get a plausible answer about what I have and to proceed with treatment or surgery, depending on the diagnosis," he explained.
Challenges of treatment and support from followers and family.
This period of uncertainty has been challenging for Lucas, who has always had a routine marked by constant contact with friends, family, and followers. “It’s been very difficult for me. I’m a communicative person who likes to go out and be around people. Going through this more secluded time isn’t easy. I’ve already had two very delicate surgeries in my life, but this time, without even knowing if I’ll have surgery, I’m suffering more than in the other two,” he confided.
Among his current concerns is the possibility that the pressure exerted by the injury may have caused some impairment to his vision. Despite this, he remains hopeful for a positive recovery. “Now we have to wait for the biopsy results to continue treatment. Without the results, I can only take medication to alleviate the pain. Because of the pressure, it's possible it caused something serious to my eyesight, but I'm confident that everything will work out,” he said.
Amidst the difficulties, Lucas highlights the strength he has received from his family and the support of thousands of people who follow his journey on social media. For him, the messages of affection have been fundamental in facing this moment.
“The affection from people has been essential. I never imagined in my life that I would be such a beloved person. I even thought they hated me for being a bit too much about everything. But people understand that I work with sincerity and that I am exactly who I appear to be on social media. This has made many people know me just by watching me. This is me, simple and happy. And I am happy to have so many people with me at this moment,” she declared.
While awaiting a definitive diagnosis, Lucas remains surrounded by the support of his family, friends, and followers, who daily send messages of faith, solidarity, and wishes for a speedy recovery.
