Expanding the relationship with the community, encouraging its participation in educational and cultural projects supported by Cattalini Terminais Marítimos. These were some of the objectives that the company outlined throughout 2017 and will continue to develop in 2018. Examples of these initiatives were the support directed to 16 projects focused on education, culture and sports, in addition to the environmental programs developed in local schools, emphasizing preservation and recycling actions.
To close out 2017, the company invited the school community of the Randolfo Arzua and Costa e Silva educational institutions (located near the terminal) to a Christmas party. Santa Claus was present and brought joy to the more than 300 children who attended.
The party also included the distribution of gifts and snacks to families. “The party was the beginning of a larger project designed for the community, which includes sports and cultural activities for our young people and children,” said the Superintendent of New Businesses, Carlos Henrique Kszan.
The initiative was well received by the principals of the aforementioned schools. “For us, this is a great gift from Cattalini to our students and their families. We are happy with the new projects that will come,” said teacher Nirlene Modesto dos Santos, from the Randolfo Arzua Municipal School. “This was the best Christmas for our students. Cattalini is a frequent partner and this gives us great joy,” said teacher Lisleile Zattar Lopes, from the Costa e Silva Municipal School.

Held for over 10 years, the “Cattalini and Community Meeting” is in its 34th edition and is yet another example of the importance the company places on its relationship with the neighborhoods in its vicinity. The “Community Meeting” is an initiative that aims to maintain an open channel of communication between the company and residents living in neighborhoods such as Rocio, Vila da Madeira and Vila Becker.
At the last event held in December, around 60 people were present at the company: community leaders, teachers from schools located near the Terminal, local authorities and representatives from environmental and safety agencies.
