The man who distances himself from the crowd rarely assumes a dignified position at its head. In general, those who receive authority think of fortifying themselves in a superior zone. Those who achieve great financial wealth tend to forget those who were their companions from the beginning and draw humiliating dividing lines so that those in need do not bother them. Those who improve their intelligence almost always abuse the easily exploitable popular passions. And the masses, in most regions of the world, continue to be left to themselves. Inferior politics turns them into a toy for common maneuvers. Unfair trade seeks in them the vein of exorbitant profits. Vain intellectualism involves them in the expansion of the pedantry that is peculiar to them. From time to time, the crowd is always the object of mockery or contempt for the spiritual needs that characterize their movements and attitudes. Very few are the men who help them climb the enlightening mountain. Very few mobilize resources for social support. Jesus, however, outlined the desirable program, instituting efficient assistance. Observing that the children of the people were approaching him, he began to teach them the right path, making us realize that the educational work of the crowd challenges the religious and scientific people of all times. Therefore, whoever is honored to serve Jesus should imitate his example. Help the closest brother to dignify life, to build himself up through healthy work and to feel better.
