“Jesus approached, above all, the poor and the disinherited, because they are the ones who most need consolation; the docile and good-natured blind, because they ask to be given sight, and not the proud who think they have all the light and need nothing.” (Chapter 25, Item 12)
Millions of us, incarnate and discarnate spirits serving on Earth, are sick souls of many centuries. Carrying debts and inhibitions, contracted in past existences or acquired now, we proclaim in heartfelt words that Jesus is our Divine Physician. And a quick reflection is enough to find in the Gospel the collection of recipes articulated by him, with a view to the therapy of the soul. All the indications of the sublime formula stand out for their security and conciseness. In the disturbances of selfishness: “do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” In the convulsions of anger: “in patience you will possess yourself.” In the fits of revolt: “humble yourself and you will be exalted.” In the paranoia of vanity: “you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven without the simplicity of a child.” In the paralysis of spirit due to false virtue: “if you aspire to be the greatest, be the servant of all in the world.” In the mental cysts of hatred: “love your enemies.” In the delirium of ignorance: “Learn from the truth and the truth will set you free.” In the pain of offenses received: “Forgive seventy times seven.” In the despair caused by violence from others: “Pray for those who persecute and slander you.” In crises of uncertainty regarding spiritual direction: “If you want to come after me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me.” We, the consciences that we recognize as indebted, rejoice in the comforting statement of Christ: “It is not those who are healthy who need a doctor.” Yes, we are sick spirits with a specific record in the treatment rooms, installed in the Higher Spheres, where instructors and benefactors of the Higher Life accompany us and analyze our actions and reactions. However, we must consider that the doctor, even if he is Our Lord Jesus Christ, cannot save the sick person or help him completely if the sick person persists in avoiding the medicine.
