The state president of the PL, federal deputy Fernando Giacobo (PL-PR), told the party's national leadership that the party intends to launch more than 100 candidates for mayor and more than two thousand candidates for councilor in the 2024 municipal elections. “Paraná is the most pro-Bolsonaro state in the country and I am certain that we will emerge from the municipal elections as the largest political force in the south of the country,” said Giacobo after the PL's national meeting in Brasília.
Matinhos waterfront
A monthly report released by the Water and Land Institute (IAT) reveals that the Matinhos waterfront recovery project, on the Paraná coast, has reached 76,5% completion. The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024. “We are on schedule and, based on the pace, I can say that the project will be completed by the middle of next year,” stated the CEO of IAT, Everton Souza.

Paraná's employment agencies and outposts are starting the week with 15.654 formal job openings in the state. This is the highest number of opportunities of the year in just one week. Smart Destinations
Six municipalities in Paraná are on the list of those classified in the National Strategy DTI Brazil, of Smart Destinations, released by the Ministry of Tourism. The municipalities are Foz do Iguaçu, Ponta Grossa, Londrina, Paranaguá, Pontal do Paraná and Campo Mourão. According to the State Secretary of Tourism, Márcio Nunes, Paraná has a good chance of having between two and three municipalities selected.

“The result is cause for celebration. All of our pre-selected municipalities have great tourism potential and innovation initiatives that are either being planned or have already begun. We have two that scored well – Ponta Grossa in third – and Foz at the top of the list,” he said. Foz do Iguaçu leads with 95 points and Ponta Grossa is in third place with 82 points.

There are two days left until the deadline given to taxpayers to submit their 2023 Individual Income Tax (IR) return. According to the Federal Revenue Service, as of early Monday morning (29), more than 33,2 million returns had been submitted. The expectation is that 39,5 million will be submitted by the final deadline, which is May 31.
